How material is produced

1. Register first. No operator is written about before its record on the UKGC public register is pulled: licensee, account number, licence status, listed domains. If those don't reconcile with the live site, coverage stops there.
2. First-hand use. Lobby structure, live-casino rooms, app behaviour and support routes are assessed by using them, on desktop and phone — not by paraphrasing press releases.
3. The operator's own documents. Offer types and terms come from the operator's published terms and conditions, read in full. We describe offer types rather than quote figures we can't keep current.
4. Score last. Seven criteria — licence, game range, live casino, mobile, offer terms, support, usability — produce one score out of ten. The reasoning appears next to the score, not behind it.

What counts as a source

Three things: the Gambling Commission's public register, the operator's own published pages and documents, and our own recorded use of the product. Studio facts — founding dates, acquisitions, catalogue ownership — are stated only where the public record is unambiguous. What never counts: unverifiable review aggregators, invented statistics, and testimonials. If we can't stand a fact up, it doesn't run; honest omission beats confident guessing every time.

Re-checking and dating

Licence data is re-verified at every page update, and each operator card carries its own "last checked" date — that date is the audit trail. Lobby walk-throughs are repeated periodically and whenever reader reports suggest something has materially shifted. Pages state one "last updated" date at the top; if a date looks stale to you, treat that as information too.

The commercial wall

Affiliate relationships, described in the disclosure, are handled by the same small desk — there's no separate sales floor to blame. The wall is therefore procedural: selection of operators may consider commercial viability; assessment of operators may not. No operator previews, approves or edits a review. No payment adjusts a score, a verdict line or a duel result. Where a relationship exists, the outbound link says so through its rel="sponsored" marking and the disclosure sits beside the cards it concerns.

When we get it wrong

We fix it, date the fix, and log it on the corrections page. Errors of fact are corrected as soon as verified; errors of judgement get re-argued only when new facts warrant it — a score isn't a typo, and we don't rewrite verdicts because someone disagreed politely.
